New layout & other stuff

I decided to make a new layout because I was sick of looking at all those hearts. So Marilyn Manson it is now. But it seems as though the font I used for the headers isn’t showing up in certain browsers. Oh well, I think it looks alright anyway. Let me know what you think!

I’ve been busy working on my tax returns, and I’m getting quite a bit back this year. Yay. So maybe I can actually buy the laptop computer I’ve been wanting. AND… I can get the Smashing Pumpkins re-release box sets of Gish and Siamese Dream. When I saw them at Best Buy a few weeks ago I went crazy. I begged my dad to buy them for me and he refused. I’m also thinking of buying some new clothes, since I don’t get to go shopping for them all that often. Oh what plans I have for when I get that money

As for everything else, I’m still coming along with the animation project for school. I really don’t like animation, but it’s a required class in order for me to graduate. If I pass this class I will graduate in May or June. Then I actually have to think about what I want to do for the rest of my life. Ummmm don’t know yet. Web design seems to be what my instructors suggest for me. All I know is that I don’t want to be working in Security after I graduate. I can’t make a career out of only making $10 an hour. But it’s a job for now, and I like it for the most part.

I hate Mondays, I really do. Gotta work tonight… and soon I will be starting a new job. That means I get to work 2 jobs and go to school. Ugh. Can’t wait.

Disco Bloodbath; club kids

One of my favorite movies ever is PARTY MONSTER, a movie that tells the story of Michael Alig, “King of the Club Kids” — his rise to fame and then his downward spiral into addiction that lead to the murder of a drug dealer named Angel. The film stars Macaulay Culkin as Michael Alig, and Seth Green as James St. James.

Since I love the movie so much, I wanted to read the James St. James memoir Disco Bloodbath: A Fabulous but True Tale of Murder in Clubland, which the movie was partially based on. So here it is, with all its fabulous and gruesome details of the club kid scene and drugs and murder. I’m about half way through the book and all I can say is WOW. Definitely one of the most interesting books I’ve ever read.

And because of the movie and book, I’ve become sort of fascinated with the club kids themselves. Their outfits were amazing and the way they partied all night, slept all day is just awesome. They did really… nothing. They were outrageous. But they became famous anyway. Yep. If the club kid scene still existed, I would want to be one of them!

People are strange. . . .

A lot of people I don’t know have been calling my phone lately. But I know why. They are trying to get in contact with a friend of mine because he doesn’t have a phone. It’s kind of starting to annoy me. But whatever, maybe I just won’t answer the calls anymore. And also, I will NO LONGER accept collect calls from my brother when he is in jail. The prices are ridiculous. I have to pay my phone bill by the 15th, and it’s outrageous because of those calls. I love my brother and I was trying to help him out, but no more. Fuck.

In other news, I have been working more hours at the Library. Now I work a total of 6 hours a week! Wow! Before I was laid off from Arvato Digital Services, I worked about 50 hours a week. Damn. But I get unemployment checks also because I don’t work full time. Yesterday I talked to my boss; she said she wants to get me trained at the Ocean Spray factory, which is just down the street from where I live. She said it’s only temporary, but that’s ok. If I can work security at both Ocean Spray and the Library, that’s more money for me My boss knows that I am very reliable and also flexible. I never thought I would ever be hired as a Security Officer, and I actually am enjoying my job. It’s fairly simple and I don’t do much. I also recently applied for other security companies that claim they are hiring, so I’ll see how that goes. I applied for hospital security and also mall security. Ha ha. I could totally see myself being a mall cop.
